ello,
On the 28th of August, it was back to school for the ELMS at Le Castellet... Already an old story.
Oldies but goodies, granny Gibson is still in good shape (5th place overall ) !
Many LMP2 seen this year at Le Mans were back on track :
There were also some newcomers in the ELMS highest class, like the Ligier of the Lafargue family (father and son).
Speaking of LMP3 category, it is a real success, with no less than 20 contenders !
For sure, their design is a bit clumsy , but the sound of the big fat V8 compensates.
The main drawback is that Ligier is the only make in the entry list... 'Boredom was born one day of uniformity' (Antoine Houdar de La Motte)...
The sound of the 458 Italia... This is Rossini on the track !
Enjoy it until the end... I am afraid that, next year, the new 488 and its discrete turbo engine will rule.
After the fight : the LMP2 and GTE laureates waiting for the technical checks.
And the winner is... For the 3rd consecutive time, the Thiriet by TDS Racing Oreca 05.
The french team has grabbed all, pole, best lap and victory !
PS : I give a special award to the Renault RS01, what a look for a modern french car !
To my mind, this is what should be the new Alpine road car, and certainly not the ordinary neo-retro blue thing, that vivacious marketers are trying to sell us.
... Well, good bye, and see you soon for a next event !
