GT FFSA Le Castellet 2018

ello,

here is a short report made during the week-end of October 12-14 at Le Castellet (GT FFSA meeting); Present at the track on Friday and Sunday afternoons, these slots proved to be unpropitious to photography activity, due to the dull light.

For a change, I had decided to give priority to the 'human activities' coverage, rather than the track action. Regarding the pannings on the track, it is a matter of patience conditioned by a rather constant 'success ratio', whereas regarding the activity in the stands, it is a matter of imagination, reactivity, but also technical skills... Not so easy for me to master all these factors .

In short, I spent most of my time in the pitlane, except for one hour in GT4 race 2, and half an hour in Carrera Cup race 2. No regret, given the lack of light, just for once in Provence...

he Kronos Porsche Centre 991 Cup : its livery reminds for sure a certain 'psychédélic' 917 !

ugo Chevalier, 18 years old, is the 2018 Carrera Cup rookie of the year. Everyone is convinced that we will talk about him again next year.

et's continue the focus on the Almeras team. Come Ledogar - official Mclaren GT driver - is back in the Carrera Cup series, for a 'one shot'; it’s like cycling, once mastered, the skills are still present...

espect : what else can be said about the triumph of the Turkish Ayhancan Güven, which swipes the French championship 2018 (as well as the one of the Benelux). In full concentration on the starting grid of race 2...
NB : since then, Güven has extended its exceptional end of season, winning the FIA GT Nations Cup in Bahrain !

ong live to the Morbihannans (of RMS Racing) with an excellent Florian Latorre, who got everyone together in the Carrera Cup race 2 !

his Classic & Modern Racing Alpine GT4 is a fighter aircraft (and not only because of its livery that looks like an 'Alpha Jet' of the 'Patrouille de France'). A 1/60 panning, yes ! For the Alpine, it ended with the victory in race 2, at the end of a big suspense.

he Alpine took over the Mercedes AKKA ASP of Beaubelique/ Pla in the last laps, after an impressive comeback that made me forget my camera for a while, to enjoy the show.

till this poor light, while the McLaren of Christian Danner is passing by in the 'S de la Verrerie' curves. He cumulates 47 F1 GP, his best result being a 4th place in the 1989 US GP.

OXO was part of the beginners teams this season. With the only ambition to learn, this small structure from Tours earned some points in the AM championship on all races except Nogaro race 1. The 5th place overall in the AM final standings is a beautiful incentive to be on the starting grid again in 2019.

his mechanic seems to be crushed by its machine, but he will triumph over it.
Let's rewind the film, in September 2018, Magny-Cours. The BMW of Debard / Van der Ende violently hits the concrete wall that separates the track from the pits.
A race against the clock began to bring back this car to life : thirty pages of parts to order ! After the Barcelona race and a broken engine following some 'collateral damage' not initially diagnosed, the end of the season rewarded the efforts engaged to put this chassis back on the track: 5th place in race 1, and 4th in race 2. Bravo !
