The SRO Racing Festival is traditionally one of the most intense racing weekends in the French agenda, with no less than 20 races in 2 days. It brings together 8 categories, from single-seaters to GT4, from Mitjet to Porsche Cup. As usual, the Circuit Paul Ricard hosted the final races, and the crowning of the season's winners.

T

he GT FFSA (French GT4 championship) has now reached maturity in terms of number of entries (around 40 at each race !) and intensity of competition.
To everyone's surprise, the Varutti / Piguet duo takes the title, although they stood 36 points behind the Alpine of Prost / Servol before this weekend.
A victory in race 1, a 3rd place in race 2 while the Alpine retired in the 1st lap, and the situation was turned upside down in favour of the AVR-Avvatar Porsche !

T

he new Cayman is a real performing contender, as shown by the 3 Pro-Am victories - including 1 this weekend - for the K-Works #121 (Timothé Buret / Christopher Campbell). Look at this beautiful 911 GT1 Zakspeed revival livery !!!

D

espite appearances, the Full Motorsport mechanics aren't demoralized... They left Provence with the Am title for Blanchemain and Hamon, in this Audi R8 LMS.

A

rmada Racing is a brand new team. For their inaugural event, they impressed the observers with this colorful livery !

F

urthermore, for a 1st attempt, her rowing is worth the plumage : Romain Monti / Jordan Grimaud achieved the race 1 16th (out of 43), and 12th in race 2.

I

n the Alpine Elf Europa Cup, after the first 5 events on the calendar, only Lucas Frayssinet, Simon Tirman and Paul Cauhaupé could still claim the win... And the €40,000 prize money for a future move to GT4.
In race 1, Paul Cauhaupé won by valiantly resisting the pressure of Lucas Frayssinet, whose result was a step towards the crown after the retirement of Simon Tirman.
The latter was forced to win race 2 to keep a chance; he did it ahead of Cauhaupé, but Frayssinet's 5th place gave him the title.

he Alpine of the championship laureate (Lucas Frayssinet / Chazel Technologie) :

M

arvin Klein (CLRT) won the 31st edition of the Porsche Carrera Cup France, ahead of Dorian Boccolacci (Martinet by Alméras) in the final races of the year.
Klein arrived in Provence with an advantage of 14 points, and he confirmed the hierarchy there, winning both races after some superb fightings with Boccolacci.

he Carrera Cup is one of the cornerstones of these French meetings, with a tradition of audacity for some liveries.

y favorite one is Porsche Lorient Racing's, but here I'm not at all objective (Allez les Merlus) !

ere is the family picture of the 2022 winner in Pro-Am, Jérôme Boullery.

L

ast but not least, a double race victory sealed Pro-Am title for Saelens and Longin in the GT2 European series...
The race 2 saw a dramatic finish : the PK Carpsort Audi duo managed to pass title rivals Sladecka / Rosina for second and then emerged leaders after the pitstops.
At that time, this rush was not sufficient to be entitled... But a contact whilst challenging for 2nd knocked the #15 KTM out of the race, ending their championship dream with just 10 minutes remaining !

orget the questionable decoration on the front (a greasy barbecue ??), I am still in love with this Brabham, its aggressive line and demonic sound, which is reminiscent of the one of a BMW Z4 GT3.

he other GT2s are not less gorgeous.

o conclude, hats off to a youngster, who can be proud for her contribution to the embellishment of the Mirage team cars.
For this last races of the year, even the tires got dressed up, and it's cuuuuuute...!
